Re-qualification for those whose 3 Day First Aid at Work certification has expired

Description

It is a legal requirement under the Health & Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) order 1978 to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work for all employees. Under the Health & Safety First Aid regulations, employers shall provide persons, training, facilities and equipment to render first aid to their employees should they become injured or ill at work. This is also applicable to non-employees and service users/general members of the public.
Duration – Minimum of 12 hours, normally spread over 2 days or 4 evenings. Method of teaching is both practical and theory and flexibility is offered to suit individual needs.

  • Disorders of Consciousness
  • Action in an emergency
  • Eye irrigation
  • Recognition of Illness
  • Primary and Secondary Assessments
  • Transportation of Casualties
  • Treatment for bleeding, fractures, head injuries, burns, allergic reactions, choking and more…
  • Resuscitation & CPR techniques
  • Recovery position

Certification

All students must prove they have an “in-date” First Aid at Work certificate that has not expired before the course starts. All candidates will be tested both practically and theoretically which will be conducted by 2 professionally qualified trainers. On completion, a new First Aid at Work certificate will be issued, valid for 3 years from the date of this Refresher course.
