3 DAY COURSE
First Aid at Work Course
It is a legal requirement under the Health & Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) order 1978 to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work for all employees. Under the Health & Safety First Aid regulations, employers shall provide persons, training, facilities and equipment to render first aid to their employees should they become injured or ill at work. This is also applicable to non-employees and service users/general members of the public.

2 DAY COURSE
First Aid at Work - Refresher
It is a legal requirement under the Health & Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) order 1978 to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work for all employees. Under the Health & Safety First Aid regulations, employers shall provide persons, training, facilities and equipment to render first aid to their employees should they become injured or ill at work. Minimum of 12 hours, normally spread over 2 days or 4 evenings. Method of teaching is both practical and theory and flexibility is offered to suit individual needs.
1 DAY COURSE
Emergency First Aid at Work
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982 require employers to provide adequate first aid equipment, facilities and trained personnel to ensure employees receive immediate assistance if they are injured or become ill at work. Employers should carry out a first aid needs assessment to determine the level of provision required, including a suitably stocked first aid kit, an appointed person and clear first aid information for employees.

The role of the first-aider;
- The importance of preventing cross infection, recording incidents and actions, and use of available equipment.
- Respond quickly and confidently to workplace emergencies
- Assess casualties and prioritise treatment safely
- Perform CPR and provide life-saving first aid
- Treat common workplace injuries and illnesses
- Understand the responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- Record incidents accurately and follow best practice procedures
This is a 6 hour instructor-led course combines classroom learning with hands-on scenarios and practical exercises to build confidence in real-life emergency situations. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate.
1 DAY COURSE
Appointed Persons Course
The legal minimum requirement for each company or organisation is the appointment of a person to take control of basic First Aid needs. This appointed individual will be given responsibility for taking care of equipment, updating supplies and calling for the Emergency Services when required. In the absence of a first-aider, this appointed person must be available during working hours.

4 HOUR COURSE
First Aid at Work Course
This course is aimed at anyone whose organisation is in possession of a Defibrillator, informing them of the correct procedures of how to use, when to use and any other relevant procedures. Individuals who may be aligned with sports clubs, schools or any organisation who feel necessary to own a Defibrillator are recommended to attend this short training course.

12 HOUR & 6 HOUR REFRESHER
Emergency Paediatric First Aid
This course has been developed for those who are working with children and young people aged from birth up to 11 years old. It is aimed at teachers, anyone in a child-care capacity (at all levels), and those who are responsible for youth organisations or establishments.
£60 + VAT per person
- Responsibilities of a paediatric first aider, Incident reporting and record keeping
- Assessing emergency situations and dealing with an unconscious child or young person, choking emergencies, controlling bleeding and treating shock, burns and scalds, fractures and head injuries.
- Child and baby CPR
- Asthma and allergic reactions
This course is also particularly supportive to parents wishing to gain peace of mind for their own children in the home. This course supports the legal elements for anyone wishing to have responsibility for anyone responsible for children & babies.
How Many First Aiders Does Your Workplace Need?
The number of trained first aiders your organisation requires depends on your workplace risk assessment, the level of risk associated with your activities and the number of employees you have. As a minimum, every workplace should have appropriate first aid arrangements in place whenever people are at work.
Low Hazard Workplaces (suitable for environments such as offices, shops and libraries)
Less than 25 employees:
At least one Appointed Person
25–50 employees:
At least one Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) trained first aider
More than 50 employees:
At least one First Aid at Work (FAW) trained first aider for every 100 employees (or part thereof)
Higher Hazard Workplaces (suitable for environments such as construction sites, warehouses, engineering, food processing, manufacturing and workplaces using dangerous machinery or chemicals)
Less than 5 employees:
At least one Appointed Person
5–50 employees:
At least one EFAW or FAW trained first aider, depending on the risks involved
More than 50 employees:
At least one FAW trained first aider for every 50 employees (or part thereof)
